IT MEANS SOMEONE WHO PLEADS SOMEONES CASE BEFORE GOD. IN A SENSE WE ARE ALL INTERCESSERS. BUT MARY SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN LIFTED TO THE HEIGHTS SHE NOW POSSESSES, SOME COTHOLICS HAVE PUT HER OVER JESUS AND YOU KNOW THAT TO BE TRUE. I READ A CATHOLIC WRITING ONCE THAT SAID YOU CANT BE SAVED WITHOUT PRAYING TO MARY. AND THATS HOGWASH, IN MY VEIW THE MARY OF MOST CATHOLICS IS NOTHING MORE THAN THE PAGAN MOTHER GODDESS CALLED BYE A DIFFERANT NAME. THE QUEEN OF HEAVEN THAT GOD CALLED AN ABOMINATION. I THINK YOU NEED TO RECONCIDER WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN.
Your initial sentences pretty well sums up Catholic teaching on intercession. (See Praying to the Saints)
I agree that to say YOU CANT BE SAVED WITHOUT PRAYING TO MARY is HOGWASH. But who said it? I don't find it anywhere in the Catechism which is a detailed resume of Jesus' teachings.
If Jesus who is the "one mediator" (1 Tim 2:5) can allow us humans a role as intercessors, is it not possible, a fortiori, that he could do the same for the angels (Mt 18:10) the saints (Hb 12:1) and above all for the "woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head" (Rev. 12:1)?
I hope you are having a good Holy Week. Prayers.
