Announcements (April 29, 2007)

1. The two-bit collection is for Tuition Assistance. Your donations will provide help to families with limited resources in sending their child to our school. Also this weekend our principal Mr. Glen Lutz, teachers and other representatives of Holy Family School are available to answer your questions about our parish school. We currently are taking registrations for the 2007-2008 school year for children from pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade.

2. In this Sunday’s bulletin you will find information about three distinct forms of giving: Stewardship, the Capital Campaign and the Annual Catholic Appeal. Stewardship is your weekly Sunday giving which sustains the parish. The Capital Campaign is a three-year program to renovate and repair parish facilities. The Annual Catholic Appeal supports the work of the Archdiocese of Seattle of which Holy Family Parish is a part. There is a special flier in the bulletin explaining the Annual Catholic Appeal and how you should participate in it. Please read it carefully. If you have not yet filled out your commitment envelope (hold it up) please do so this week and return it in next Sunday’s collection. Because next Sunday is Commitment Sunday for the Annual Catholic Appeal, there will be only one collection.

3. Also next Sunday afternoon, the University of Washington Newman Center is planning a party for high school juniors and seniors to learn more about the Newman Center ministries. Please see the flier on the vestibule bulletin board.

4. This coming Saturday there will be an interesting presentation on Mormonism by Ron Belgau. Ron has family members who are part of the Mormon hierarchy so he has something of an insider’s perspective. Ron himself is a convert to the Catholic faith. The bulletin has more information about this presentation, as well as other important news regarding our parish and school. Please be sure to take home a bulletin.
