Announcements (December 25, 2008)

1. Our second collection will go to our parish St. Vincent de Paul. Your contribution will help St. Vincent de Paul volunteers reach out to the needy in our parish neighborhood. As you know, many of our brothers and sisters are going through difficult times. St. Vincent de Paul is there with an encouraging word, referrals and the material help that you make possible by your donations. Thank you for your generosity.

2. Our Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a Blood Drive this coming Saturday. In the bulletin you will find more information on how you can give the gift of life. Also you will see an announcement about the Annual Dungeness Crab Dinner and Dance on January 31.

3. Our children's Christmas Concert will take place on January 6 at 6 p.m., here in our church. All are welcome.

4. January 1 is the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God – a Holy Day of Obligation. We will have a bilingual Mass on New Year’s Eve at 11 p.m., followed by adoration of the Blessed Sacrament – a wonderful way to bring in the New Year 2009. On New Year’s Day we will have Mass at 10 in English and 6 p.m. in Tagalog. The Masses for this coming Sunday, Holy Family Sunday, are at normal times: English Masses 5 p.m. Saturday and 8 & 11 a.m. on Sunday morning.

5. The bulletin has important Stewardship information. We are making a special appeal for Year-End donations. Also we remind you that you may donate online by going to our parish website or using the link on Fr. Bloom's home page.

6. Parish Calendars for 2009 are available at the church entrances. Please note that the calendars are bilingual - that is, English and Spanish. They are free, courtesy of the Associated Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Seattle. We hope to have some English only calendars by the first Sunday of January.

7. In Fr. Bloom's column you will find information on the Randy Terlicker Fund and the dedication of our new St. Michael's Chapel. The bulletin also has information for parents who have a child to be baptized, for young people interested in vocation discernment and much more.

8. Thank you to all who made donations for trees, flowers and Christmas decorations for our church. In the vestibule you will see a display listing donors. Special gratitude to Geno and Roberta Rosso, Sr., and Geno Rosso Jr. for the trees in our sanctuary.
