Announcements (December 25, 2007)

1. Our Christmas two-bit collection is for our parish St. Vincent de Paul. At Holy Family Parish we have a tradition of taking up a second collection for special needs, especially to help the poor. We call it a “two-bit” collection because we ask you to reach into your pocket for a smaller amount – say one dollar or five dollars. The Christmas two-bit collection goes to our St. Vincent de Paul Society to help the poor in our parish neighborhood. Your contributions are deeply appreciated.

2. Next Saturday, December 29, our Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a Blood Drive. In the bulletin you will find the hours when the Bloodmobile will be at our parish and the number to call to make an appointment. Be a blood donor and give the gift of life. Our Knights also invite you to reserve your tickets for the annual Crab Feed and Lovers Dance on January 26. You can find contact information on our bulletin boards.

3. In the vestibule you will see a display on this year’s response to parish Stewardship drive. There is still time to turn in your commitment sheet. Also there is information on our parish Capital Campaign for those who are considering a year-end donation. In addition the bulletin has update on our parish Stewardship Drive and some good news regarding Holy Family’s participation in the Archdiocesan Annual Appeal.

4. If you have not been confirmed, we invite you to participate in the Confirmation Classes. Bishop Tyson will come to Holy Family Parish this spring to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation. The first Confirmation class will take place on January 9. If you are sixteen years or older – or will be sixteen years old by spring of 2008, you may register for these classes. The first class will take place on Wednesday, January 9. Please see the bulletin for contact information.
