Announcements (September 24, 2006)

1. Our second collection will go toward our Annual Catholic Appeal shortfall. I explain more about this in my column, but the basic point is this: Archbishop Brunett has forgiven us some of our past debt, but is asking us to make a concerted effort to achieve our Annual Appeal goal for 2006. We are very close and I believe that with a two-bit collection today and in December, we can reach that goal and even receive a small rebate. I want to thank the 348 parishioners who did make pledges. If you are like me, you are still in the process of fulfilling that pledge. At the same time, if anyone could make a special pledge or donation, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

2. Religious Education classes begin this week. Also we have RCIC (Rite of Christian Initiation for Children) classes and RCIA for adults which begin this week. A week from Monday we begin the 2006-2007 lecture series sponsored by Holy Family Parish Catholic Evidence Guild. Times and contact information are in the bulletin.

3. This Thursday we have the Mass for the Feast of San Lorenzo Ruiz. Please join our Filipino brothers and sisters in this celebration. Also our Filipino community will be selling food after the 9:30 and 11 a.m. Masses to raise money for the parish Capital Campaign.

4. Next Sunday we have the annual Life Chain at 16th and Roxbury. Please see the flier and join us at 2 p.m. on October 1. Also, a week from next Saturday, we have the annual Pennies from Heaven Benefit Concert at the Performing Arts Center of Burien. For ticket information, please see the white flier in the bulletin.

5. And of course please be sure to take home a bulletin and read it carefully.
