Announcements (April 19, 2009)

1. The second collection is for Priests for Life. Priests For Life is a movement of priests seeking to help the rest of the Church to use her full strength against the most devastating attacks on human life in our day. Your contributions will help Priests for Life continue its vital work.

2. You are invited to join the Hour of Mercy Prayer this (Sunday) afternoon at 3 p.m. in front of the Planned Parenthood abortion clinic on Madison Street. For the complete address and program of the prayer service, please see today’s bulletin.

3. Easter Lily Pick-Up: We would like to make the Easter lilies available to take home for those who donated through the Easter Flower Envelope Collection. If your name was listed in the bulletin last week, please feel free to come by he parish office and pick up a lily this week, Monday - Wednesday. In order to have a plant for every donor, we ask that you only take one per family. Thank you again for your generosity, which helped make our church so beautiful this Easter.

4. Rice Bowl Collection: We are still collecting Rice Bowls, so if you haven't yet turned yours in, you can still do so. In order to save much time in counting and processing, we ask that you please count the money in your bowl and write a check for that amount to Holy Family with "Rice Bowl" in the memo.

5. This year’s Annual Catholic Appeal has us reflect upon Passion for our Faith, Promise for our Future, and Care for our Community. You will be receiving a letter this week from Archbishop Brunett, which I support, and ask you to prayerfully consider supporting the needs of our Archdiocese through the 2009 Annual Catholic Appeal. I will be asking that all households participate this year so that we can achieve the highest percentage of participation ever in our history. I will be asking each weekend until I’ve heard from everyone. We will have a witness speaker presentation next weekend which will be your first opportunity to return your pledge envelope at Mass. Thank you.

6. You are invited to come to a reception to meet and talk with Fr. Frank Pavone, after the 11 a.m. Mass in the Tice Hall. Please be sure to take home a bulletin and read it carefully. Thank you - and Happy Easter.
