Announcements (August 13, 2006)

1. Our two-bit collection is for Deanery Prison Ministry. The parishes of South Seattle Deanery help support the work of Catholic Chaplains at King County Jail. Your contributions will enable us to do our part to make possible that vital ministry.

2. This Tuesday at 7 p.m. we will have the first of a two-part Baptism Preparation class. Please notify any parents who desire the sacrament of baptism for their child. Now is also the time to sign up for First Communion and Religious Education Classes for children, as well as RCIA classes for adults interested in the Catholic faith.

3. Today’s bulletin contains information about various activities for youth: our Girls Group and for boys, Altar Server Pizza Party and Boys Group.

4. In one month we will begin a new year-long Scripture Study. These are exciting, in-depth classes. In today’s bulletin you will find information about times and whom to contact.

5. Next Sunday is Bundle Sunday. Please see the bright yellow flier for items you may bring for the St. Vincent de Paul truck.

6. Also in the bulletin you will find a flier with a letter from Archbishop Brunett and a statement from the Washington State Catholic Conference regarding freedom of conscience for pharmacists. Next week, after Masses, we will have the opportunity to sign a petition supporting pharmacists in this right.

7. This Tuesday is the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary - a Holy Day of Obligation. A vigil Mass in English will be celebrated on Monday at 6 p.m. and on Tuesday there will be two English Masses: 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. The full schedule is in the bulletin which we ask you to take home and read carefully.
