Announcements (March 2, 2003)

1. The two-bit collection is for debt reduction. The figures in this Sunday's bulletin are a week behind. Here are the actual amounts: Last weekend $1,184 were donated during the seven weekend Masses. Also in our first collections you gave $8,857, for a combined total of $10,041. Thank you for your support of Holy Family Parish.

2. Our Parish Council is sponsoring a nine day Novena of Prayer in March. It will focus on the financial needs of our parish and of specific needs families within our parish. The Novena, in honor of the Infant of Prague, begins on March 17 (St. Patrick's Day) and continues through the Feast of the Annunciation, March 25.

3. This Sunday's bulletin has an important flier regarding long distance telephone companies. You may be surprised that major companies support pornography, abortion and homosexual lifestyle. But also you will find an alternative long distance carrier which offers low rates and donates a portion to charity of your choice. You can designate Holy Family Parish to receive your monthly contribution.

4. The Basketball Awards Night will take place this Friday at Holy Family School.

5. We are currently enrolling for the 2003-2004 school year. We have openings in all grades.

6. Ash Wednesday Mass in English will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. At noon there will be a bilingual Mass. The full schedule of Mass and Ash Services is in the bulletin. Lent is a good time to begin Eucharistic Adoration. The Ailbe House Chapel is open seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day.

7. During the Fridays of Lent we will have Soup Nights in the Ailbe House Youth room. Please come for soup and join in the Stations of the Cross following at 7 p.m. in the Church.

8. For your Lenten observance, please be sure to take a Rice Bowl for your dining room table. Also, for a one dollar donation, you may take the pamphlet "A Clean Heart Create in Me" which has daily lenten reflections from the writings of C.S. Lewis.

9. This Thursday, November 6, is First Thursday of March. Fr. Bloom and Fr. Velasco will be available for confessions from 6 to 8 p.m.

10. Next Sunday morning our Knights of Columbus will host a Pancake and French Toast Breakfast, beginning after the 8 a.m. Mass until noon.

11. Scrip will be available after the morning Masses. If you use Scrip for your shopping needs, it costs nothing extra and supports our school and parish.
