Announcements (July 29, 2001)

1. Our two-bit collection this Sunday is for Human Life of Washington. This organization promotes respect for human life from conception to natural death. Your support is greatly appreciated.

2. Thank you for your contributions last weekend for our parish school renovation project. $488 were donated. As you can see, the permanent, translucent canopy has been placed over the porch. In the next week or so this project will be completed. Your help is needed to continue the seismic renovation of our parish school.

3. Bumper stickers for Sacred Heart Radio are available at the entrances of the church. Please pick up one and put it on your car to advertise Seattle's Catholic radio station.

4. You are invited to the celebration of Vespers, Benediction and Procession with Blessed Sacrament every Sunday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.

5. Fr. Velasco and Fr. Bloom will be available for Sacrament of Reconciliation this Thursday (Aug. 2) from 4 to 8 p.m. in the church.

6. Scott and Kimberly Hand will be in the Seattle area August 3-4. They are both converts to the catholic faith. Dr. Scott Hahn was a Protestant minister before his conversion. They are both very inspirational speakers. Please see the bulletin for more information.

7. You are invited to participate in the novena of Masses for Priests and vocations to the priesthood. The novena will conclude next Saturday, feast of St. John Vianney, patron of parish priests. The full schedule of novena Masses is in the bulletin. Please pray for our priests, deacons and seminarians.

8. There is a Bible Study for high school students and young adults on Sunday evenings, 7 p.m. in the Ailbe House. For adults there will be a course on Scripture, Church documents and Christian writers. This course, for adults who wish to explore more deeply their faith, will begin this Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. in the Ailbe House library. More details & phone numbers in bulletin.

9. On Tuesday, August 14, there will be a pot luck for those participating in Eucharistic Adoration. It will begin at 6 p.m. in our school hall. Please see Joe Vandermark, Betty Weller or Angelina Sardea for more information.

10. Next Sunday, Aug. 5, Darcy Hemstad, R.N., will be available for introduction to the Billings Method of Natural Family Planning and chart review, 1:45 p.m. in the Ailbe House Library.

11. Scrip is for sale after Mass. Scrip can be ordered for use at various stores in our area.
