Announcements (April 1, 2001)

1. Our two-bit collection this Sunday is to assist three parish in the Archdiocese damaged by the Ash Wednesday earthquake: Immaculate Conception, Seattle; St. Mary's Aberdeen and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Kelso. Because these parishes do not have the means to cover the insurance deductible of $200,000, Archbishop Brunett is asking other parishes throughout the Archdiocese to assist them. Please be generous.

2. Thank you for your contributions to last week's two-bit collection for American Bishops' Overseas Appeal. The $2044 donated will go to support Catholic Relief Services, Migration and Refugee Services as well as the Holy Father's Relief Fund. Your donations will aid the poor throughout the world. Rice Bowl contributions can be returned this Sunday or Easter.

3. Holy Family School is taking registrations for the 2001-2002 school year. If you have a child preschool age (4 years old) to eighth grade, please call the school office.

4. Please join us on Friday evenings of Lent at 5:30 p.m. for Soup Supper in the school hall. Stations of the Cross are prayed in the church Friday evenings at 7 p.m. Last opportunity before Good Friday.

5. There is a Bible Study for high school students and young adults on Sunday evenings. Please contact Vernon Wells or the parish office for more details.

6. The Ailbe House chapel is now open seven days a week for Eucharistic Adoration. There is round the clock exposition of the Blessed Sacrament every day except Sunday afternoon. If you are able to volunteer for an hour or adoration, please contact Betty Weller, Joe Vandemark or Greg Miller.

7. The School Auction family is taking place this evening in the school. The live auction will be held April 7 at South Seattle Community College. Please call Holy Family School for more information.

8. Fr. Jesse Loretz and Fr. Jaime Tolang are offering a study of the Bible and Catechism of the Catholic Church at Immaculate Conception Church in Seattle. Full details are in the bulletin.

9. There will be a Vigil for Life next Saturday, April 7, at Blessed Sacrament Church. It begins with Mass at 8 a.m.

10. This Thursday, April 5, Fr. Ramon and I will be available for confessions from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Extra confessors will be here in the evening so all can receive the Sacrament of Reconcilation before Holy Week.

11. Our Filipino community will offer a special Holy Week devotion next Saturday, April 7, beginning at 6 a.m.: the reading of Ang Pabasa ng Pasvon, a poem which relates the entire history of redemption from Adam and Eve to the resurrection of Christ. All are invited.

12. Baptism classes will be held this Monday, April 2. Please call the parish office, 767-6220, if you have a child to be baptized.

13. Every Sunday afternoon at 5 p.m. Sacred Heart Radio of Seattle features Mother Angelica Live. Tune your radio to 1050 AM for great Catholic programming.

14. Copies of National Catholic Register are available at the entrances of the Church. For a one dollar donation you may take one home. If you like it, consider subscribing.

15. Scrip is for sale after Mass. Scrip can be ordered for use at various stores in our area. Also you may purchase the book, Abundance of Grace, History of the Archdiocese of Seattle, 1850-2000 for $25. Proceeds will go to our school renovation project.
