Announcements (September 25, 2005)

1. Our two-bit collection is education and formation of seminarians. Your contributions will help make up our shortfall in pledges to the Annual Catholic Appeal. We are about three thousand dollars from fulfilling our goal.

2. We need volunteers to help count our collections. Also we need volunteers to help with building and grounds maintenance. Please contact Gary Samaniego if you can help.

3. Classes for engaged couples begin next Sunday. Please call the parish office to sign up.

4. Raffle tickets are now available. First prize is $3000. We are counting on the raffle to raise necessary funds for our parish. Please contact Betty Weller or the parish office for information and tickets. We need many volunteers to sell tickets.

5. Our Girls Group is planning a bowling outing next Sunday at Magic Lanes. The Boys Group will have paintball event toward the end of October.

6. Next Sunday at our morning Masses representatives from Aquinas Books and Gifts will offer a selection of books and religious articles after our morning Masses. Next Sunday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 3:30 we will have Life Chain prayer at 16th and Roxbury.

7. You are invited to a special Mass this Wednesday in honor of St. Lorenzo Ruiz. A reception will follow the 6 p.m. Mass. Please join our Filipino community for this beautiful celebration.

8. On October 3, a noted local Scripture scholar, Mauricio Perez, will give a presentation titled “Understanding the Bread of Life.” Please reserve that Monday evening to attend this information lecture, from 7 – 9 p.m. in the Sharon Carriere Library of the Ailbe House.
