Faith Fixed on Science

From: Richard Fowler

Did Carl Sagan ever reply to The Moral Law: A Response to Carl Sagan? Do you know if he read it? If so, what did he say?

Dear Richard,

When I wrote the article, Carl Sagan was coming to Seattle for treatments. I don't remember if it was before or after he stated, "science has cured me." I sense he went into eternity with his faith fixed upon "science," but I do not know. I doubt he read my article, but I hope that prayers may have had some influence. In "Contact" (based on his book) a person makes an incredible journey in which she contacts other rational creatures. Altho it pales by comparison, is that not an image of what we believe about the resurrection?

God bless,

Fr. Phil Bloom
